If I submitted my application for Medicine on the 15th of October, received the Welcome Letter on the 17th, does this mean that I can make a change up till the 24th? Or if it's not possible because the due date for Medicine is on the 15th?
Your deadline for making changes is 22 October (it runs from the date of the letter, not when you received it) and you should be able make changes even though the deadline for your application to be received at UCAS was 15 October. Check with UCAS if you want to pursue this, just to be sure.
Okay I will call them up to ask  thank you. Before that, any idea if I will still receive equal consideration from the school in such a case?
someone asked UCAS on facebook yesterday and they said you can change only within one week after submitting your application. sorry.
^ I've just gone to check that out. Thanks!

Does it look really bad if you change a choice? I kind of want to change Sheffield for Birmingham... I haven't visited either but I thought Sheffield was a big city, turns out not so much. Also nottingham have raised there standard offer since I applied and now I am lacking an insurance! Will any of my other uni's know, and will birmingham know?

No - because the unis concerned don't know that you picked something else first - and all unis you apply to don't know which other unis you've applied to as well.

Just going to say - Sheffield IS a big city. Its metropolitan population is 555,000 according to Wikipedia, which is usually slightly old anyway, so its probably more by now. Of course, Birmingham is perhaps double the size, but excluding London, Sheffield is third in the country! So if that's your reason, consider it a bit more. Might be a good idea though regarding the second part and Nottingham's raise.
I don't believe any Universities can see who else you've applied for until they give you an offer. That means that you wouldn't get any bias against you for changing simply because the uni wouldn't have a clue until it was too late. Don't quote me on that! D: But I think it's the case

Cheers  I know it's a big city in terms of population, but it's not what I'm looking for. I guess it hasn't got that big city feel in the way other big cities have. Anyway, I've changed to Birmingham now and defo happy with that choice!
Im hoping to apply for BSC Healthcare Sciences (Physiological Sciences) course but there are only a few universities currently offering the course at the moment. I only have one choice so far in my UCAS application.

How can i find out whether more universities will be offering this course? I need at least 2/3 more choices as i intend to send in my application around early November.

If it doesn't appear in the UCAS listings already, it's unlikely that a uni will start offering the course for 2012 entry.

I would suggest looking for related subjects - course titles can vary while the content is similar.
Good evening everybody,

I just have a few questions for you all, I do apologise if these have been answered elsewhere, but I'm struggling to find clear answers!

1) Education section of application.

A. Ok, so, for example let's take my Mathematics A level. At AS I received A,B,C. I'm retaking the C (C2). When entering this onto UCAS, I choose GCE Advanced Level, choose the exam board, choose mathematics etc. Enter the A,B,C as module grades, and leave the following three modules as 'pending' as I'm carrying it on to A2. Now, for the overall grade do I choose B (my overall AS grade) or do I choose 'pending'. Now, do I enter it again, leaving the C2 module blank?

B. When entering the grades, and choosing a date, do you put the month the exam was taken, IE June, or the month you got the results, August?

Any help on this would be great.

2) Personal Statement

Has anyone else hit a mental block when doing theirs? I've done a few versions now, and I just do not feel like any of them are right! Either too much like a biography, too cliche or too boring! I know it's a personal statement, but where have you all gone for advice?

Thanks in advance,
+Rep to anyone that can help me out here! :colondollar:
Regarding your personal statement, if you have a complete draft you can post it here for TSR's team of specialist PS Helpers to review it for you.
Ok, thanks.

It's killing me too! I'm so confused with it all, and my tutor is absolutely useless!!
Hi, I'm applying through school, how will I know when my sixth form have attached the reference and sent my application?

I payed and sent it on Monday, and today my tutor said she had done the reference but i havn't got a UCAS email or anything so does that mean that it hasn't been sent yet? I will ask her tomorrow if its been sent, but I still want to know if I'll get an email.

I'm already freaking out a bit because some people on TSR already have offers for what I'm applying for :s-smilie::redface:

Anyways, thanks guys!
When ive chosen my universities choices in my UCAS application, how do i choose which ones are first choice, second choice etc.?

You don't. You can, however, decide in your head.

After you have received all your replies you then choose a firm (first) and insurance (second).

You'll get an email and it will show on apply that your UCAS has been sent for consideration. Then you'll be sent details of how to log into track once your application has been fully processed.

when you submit your application to your school (after making a payment) you'll receive an email with the subject "UCAS Apply acknowledgement" telling you that your payment has been made and your referee will have to complete the reference section etc etc... and then after your school submits your application to UCAS you'll receive another acknowledgement email saying that your application is being processed and you'll receive a welcome letter

that's it basicly. try to ask your referee to send it asap if you can't stand the wait!

there is no order of preference when applying.
P.S. your universities will not know which other universities you've applied to.
