My interview at BU wasn't thT Tense. I had to interviewers and we had a chat about what I was interested in and the last film/tv progrmames I had seen, and what sort of programme I would make if I was on the course right at that moment. Then I showed them my portfolio and we discussed bits of that. It lasted about 15 minutes or so. It wasn't scary :smile:

Just prepare a porfolio and perhaps a range of answers for any questions you think they may ask you.

Ooh thanks for that input - was worried my experience would scare people a bit! Was that an interview last year? Sounds a bit more fun than mine was - I would've happily talked about what kind of things I'd like to make during the course! :biggrin:

Has anyone looked at Leeds met Film and moving image production? Im at Stafford doing Film production at the mo but the location is soooooo bad its killing me, the uni is good on the other hand. Just wondered what everyone thought of the Leeds course as I may be transfering. I Like the idea that you get to really specialise in area in your 2nd and 3rd years.

They look like they have the right recourses, however they don't say what the lecturers specialise in or what experience they have. They also don't say what industry links are available with the university, both of these would be things I would look for.

I agree with $loth; they do seem to cover everything, but they give VERY little detail on their website.

As $loth pointed out, they don't talk about industry links or the lecturers. They don't mention Skillset accreditation, nor do they talk about the module breakdown, and what each individual year of the course involves.

All that's no real reflection on the course at this stage though, because checking the site, EVERY course has limited detail - those're just thinks to look out for, and maybe ask about, if you intend to apply.

Cheers for that guys!! I do know they have some good links with some sort of Bollywood thing as you can do some filming in India. I should have an interview in the middle of next month so i'll let eveyone know some more details.

Leeds University (not met)- Television Production, is great because they offer a really good work experience scheme and have so much contacts with the industry. apparently 97% of students go straight into paid work after, if not during, their degree.

And of course its one of the old red brick unis, which can (and im stressing the "can" as to not cause some sort of debate or whatever) be a bonus when applying for jobs.

But ive got my Westminster and Bournemouth interviews soon!
I had one at Gloucester. It seemed like a good course too. The interview was very informal... and she told me that i had a good interview, and great grades so i have an offer.

I'm going to actually prepare for the next two interviews.
I know its gonna be a lot more formal.

For my interviews what should I wear? I was thinking smart casual, black trousers, shirt black shoes but no tie, or maybe a cool skinny tie :biggrin:

Yeah tht outfit sounds fine. I think I wore jeans to mine though lol and I got there late cause I had snow issues where I live, though no one else had problems. Good first impressions ay :wink:

You left out Middlesex, Newport, LCC, Portsmouth, Plymouth, Falmouth (Uni of Arts), also I have had reccomended to me Kingston (?) Thames Valley (apperantly a lot of money went into their dept recently), London Metro -a old tutor tried to convince me that the film stuff there was very good but she was a lecturer there so biased! I'm really wouldn't reccomend those three myself tho. CSM does theatre directing- a friend of a friend went there from HND in film, but I felt it was too theatrical based.
Maybe include skillset link in this list www.skillset.org ??

Thanks for that info. I already had Portsmouth in the list, but managed to find the Middlesex course so I've added that. I've not searched for those final three you mentioned because I've got to go to work now, but will do some hunting when I get home.

I've added the skillset link, dunno why I didn't think to put that in before!

As for the other courses; having a bit of trouble finding those, but I'll check again more thoroughly after work. Any links you can send my way would help though.
