Why Are English Females So Overweight?

Woah, hold on. Excessive overstatement.

Firstly, you don't know a large majority of the UK, therefore you cannot judge UK women as a population based on narrow experience.

Secondly, since when did aesthetic appeal = quality?

Being excessively overweight to the point of it being unhealthy is one thing. But one or two stone overweight is no grounds to avoid a woman. Actually, on second thoughts, avoid all women. We don't need stuck up men like you judging girls on how they look. Society does that enough. Unless you're pretty, thin and easy, then you're pretty much screwed.

So stop hating on women who struggle with their weight just because it's not what you look for in a girl. Go find your stick thin women if you like, but don't suggest boycotts that are so shallow it's actually sickening.

I hope you're trolling, I sincerely do.

Way to have a stab at "thin" people while complaining about shallowness? Aren't you doing the same thing?

So let's get this straight. Your plan to accomplish something is for men to deliberately avoid sex.

I'll just let that sink in for a moment.

Ok. Men won't avoid sex. Personally, I wouldn't do a fat chick if you paid me, but there are plenty of men who will, and sexual desire is a pretty powerful force in people's lives.

No, not to stop men having sex with women, just to stop men having sex with overweight/obese women. It's a great way to make women take more care of their health. Right now they have no reason to lose weight, because some men still sleep with them.

Men can get laid easily. Thanks to Feminism, women are now more promiscuous and easier than ever. But some people act like being overweight is acceptable and it's society that is shallow. That's wrong. Being overweight is unhealthy, and there are many overweight women in the UK. All I'm doing is proposing a solution to women's obesity.

Which is the same thing as stopping men having sex with women, if you're talking about men who have very little to offer. Or, even if they do get some, they'd be drastically reducing the amount they get.

You sound like you've read about society in a book without ever actually going outside and socialising. Have you ever lived in the UK and/or spent an evening out with British people?

Obv generalising all British women is wrong.

I think both British women and men are letting themselves go even more. Everyone these days are trying to emulate a certain lifestyle which is deemed as 'cool' in today's society which is - going out, getting **** faced, sleeping with anyone and taking the occasional illegal drug.

This isn't about me. This thread is about obesity. Let's stick to the topic.

Obesity is a serious problem for women in the UK. The statistics prove it. I'm surprised people in this thread think being overweight is acceptable and it's society which has the problem.

This is one of the best posts in this thread.

I know a high proportion of British women (AND MEN mind you) are overweight, but there are way more important issues that should be looked at.

I am Australian, but I actually prefer British women to Australian women by far as I find Australian women much more shallow.

I totally agree! I am really disgusted by this thread:mad: and the thought that personality is irrelevant in society anymore. Society is too focused on looks, putting women down every day by conveying images of really thin women all over the media that is totally unrealistic. The point is yes there has to be a certain amount of attraction/ chemistry between people for relationships to work but if you are going to totally dismiss people for being slightly overweight or based on their looks at all then you won't find anyone.

No one is perfect, that is reality.

I can't judge someone for being overweight. But I very rarely find them attractive either. Simple fact and I'm not going to apologize for it. No personality can't really make up for it. I'm in really good shape, and I would like someone who is also in shape.

And this stuff works both ways. Unless a man is confident, funny and independant he's pretty much screwed. But life goes on.

If the topic involves some strange claims that don't square with reality, that needs investigating.

You don't appear to appreciate that 'obesity is a serious problem' and 'obesity is unacceptable' are different statements. The former is entirely true (though not just for women), whereas the latter bridges the gap between an objective statistical claim and a judgement on the value of individuals. We absolutely should move towards a culture where people are fitter and healthier, but that doesn't mean that we should make moral judgements about all overweight individuals and propose something crazy like collectively acting to ban them from sex.
I would not say they are overweight. I would rather say that most English Females don't really care about their overall appearance and how they look when they go out. I mean compared to other countries females in the UK just don't seem to care how good they look which does have it's positives I guess but also it's negatives.
you may find this hard to believe but everyone is attracted to different people. some people are even attracted to girls and guys that are a little larger (it's insane, right???! they must be disgusting perverted fetishists!1!!)

besides, if someone likes their body and is confident in the way they look, who are you to judge? it's absolutely nothing to do with you.

I think we're being a bit harsh on the English lasses now. They aren't all vicki pollard fat slags with gruff voices and sour facial expressions.
Shouldn't people be able to chose how they live their life though? What about those who are overweight because of a medical condition and are unable to exercise? should they suffer because of it?
Oh, on behalf of all British women, I apologise for not living up to yours and your friends standards. And oh thanks so much for deciding that you're going to 'help' us. You're vain, offensive and sexist.
Slim and healthy are NOT always the same thing. I know a lot of people that live on instant noodles and bread and stay skinny because they are pretty much malnourished. Thats just as unhealthy as overeating and born from the same laziness etc you seem to hate so much in fat people.

Gold digging takes its tole on the body.
I completely understand that obesity in the UK is spiraling out of control, and it's not only bad for the individuals, but also for society (due to obesity related illnesses costing the NHS millions).
However, in answer to the original question, as to why men in the UK are still attracted to those women who you deem unattractive:
1) people can have amazing personalities, no matter how they look, meaning there can be an emotional attraction
2) it has been shown that men have evolved to look for fertile women, which means they generally need to look like they are actually capable of carrying a child for 9 months (of course i know that slim people successfully have children) which is actually having a slight more 'stable' frame - this is biological
3) EVERYONE IS INDIVIDUAL. Nobody has the right to tell others what they believe to be attractive is false, and force their own believes on them (such as you trying to make men stop going out with fat women).
Some people on this thread need to realise that obesity, an unhealthy lifestyle and further health complications is a problem for British MEN AND WOMEN. Not just women.

Why does OP insist we have to do something about British females, but not males? I know somebody said that it was a bigger problem for women than men but I'd like to see the figures. Also, even if more women are overweight than men it doesn't mean it's not a problem for men as well.

Also women aren't going to lose weight just because men won't have sex with them, they aren't that one dimensional!
And sadly this is why anorexia and bulimia are still on the rise and going nowhere. No matter what shape size height etc you all are love yourself and be proud of who you are. Although this thread shows a lot of men have many 'problems' with women (personally I just think they are being unnessacarily nit-picking, and harshly too), it must NEVER be forgotten that there are women out there who think of men in the same way. Then people go and be trolls and escalate the entire situation. A problem for both genders is, (particularly those with self-image problems/confidence/esteem) is that they already have a self-loathing/jealousy of someone who looks nice/photoshopped, and these silly little comments are just pushing them over the edge into dangerous territories in the form of eating disorders. If you've nothing nice to say, then don't say it at all. Simples.
