Are receptors the same as cells?

Hi guys, just wondering if receptors like the pacinian corpuscle and cone cells/rod cells are classed as cells? Or are they classed as receptors which are different?

cheers

I don't think they can be classified as cells - as far as I know, they don't have organelles, e.g. mitochondria / nucleus / RER etc.
pacinian corpuscles are nerve endings not cells.
