Sheffield and Nottingham. AAA is the standard offer for medicine unfortunately. Unles syou're going to Cambridge, apparently they like to throw an extra A* there.

That can't be serious... ...Why on earth would they do that?! I swear Exeter isn't even that prestigious, in comparison to other universities with medical schools attached??!

Medicine is really competitive so they want a way to differentiate between students. AAA is simply too easy to achieve for such competitive courses.
Similarly, Oxford said they wouldn't use the A* as they thought it wasn't a good predictor for success at degree level but now they do for science subjects and are likely to implement it across all subjects. It's simply another way to differentiate between people.
