When water enters the root hair cell and travels via the symplast pathway does it directly go in to the xylem?

When water enters the root hair cell and travels via the symplast pathway does it directly go in to the xylem?


It first enters the cells via an apoplastic route (through the cell walls/between the cells) and then as it reaches the casparian strip in the endodermis, it is then diverted into a symplastic pathway which allows it to enter the xylem.
