How to solve arcsin arctan..etc

Actually i found a question from the P2 mock paper:

arctan x = 1
tan^-1 x = 1
x = tan1
x= 1.557407725... radians

Does that make any sense? You're basically using inverse - it is like normal trig, but instead of converting tanx ---> arctan to find x, we are doing the opposite. :smile:

Let y = arcsin(-1/2). Then sin(y) = -1/2 so y = -pi/6. Remember that arcsin of anything is between -pi/2 and pi/2.
