Posts like this make me so angry. Listening to music and dancing with people is not haram, stop being so ridiculous!

I know religion is left open to interpretation but some people are just stupid.

I am a muslim girl, and I live with my parents. And if ever I want to go out I tell my parents beforehand, my dads always cool with it and quite laid back about it he even gives me money for it. My mum however gives my the 20 questions lol, just the usual "who you going with?" "what are you going to do?" "what time will you be back?" lmao honestly though before I didn't like how she would go on, but now that i'm grown up I don't mind it just shows me that she cares and worries about me. No doubt when we have kids we're going to worry just like them, its hard to part from someone you love. Also telling them when your going to be back gives them security and knows around what time to expect you, because of all the crimes that are happening around the world I don't blame her for wanting me back safe with her. All they ever want to do it protect you. Oh and finally I don't have a curfew but I rarely go out really late which doesn't causes a problem, and it allows my parents to trust me more :smile:

My parents are at work from about 1pm to 2am (they run businesses and are very money driven) so as long as they know where I am and who I'm with, they're good. They're not very traditional and they aren't extremely strict Muslims so they do want my siblings and I to have a life outside home - they want us to enjoy life before marriage so they let us do pretty much anything so long as it's within reason.

Every parent is different. If you don't like what your parents say then remember that usually the rules they lay down for you are usually there to keep you safe and out of harms way. If they don't tell you why you can't do something, there's probably a reason for that. Parents can work in the most annoying ways at times.

Just do it, doesn't matter whether your at uni or moving out, if you're away from the parents so what right do they have to intrude with your life.

I've known LOADS like this...its great, often have a good dance and chat with them, not to mention plenty of drinks at clubs on the weekend.

Its quite cute how they hide it from their parents... :smile:

People should chill out, even if they do believe in an all merciful God, if he loves his followers to a point where he is worthy of their worship he will forgive them.

Pube will be living a much more fun existence and will garner lots of life experience from it. Theres nothing wrong with that at all.

Also 'most muslims' believe in it because they're too scared? you know the 1.2billion muslims of the world then do you? clearly you werent a 'muslim' you don't even know what it means. did you pray 5 times a day for 11 years of your life? i doubt it. because you were a muslim by name doesn't make you a muslim my friend, as most people who claim they're christians but don't go to church probably aren't christians.

you forget that the Qur'an is also 'constantly banging' on about what reward there is for the believer? why miss that out?

fair enough you talk to girls, drink, get high n all that other grime. its your life right. if doing that week in week out gives it meaning then go for it. But dont come behind a screen and mock another persons faith when damn right you wouldn't do it to their face.

Do you even realise how ridiculous you sound? Music and dancing is PROHIBITED. Its not open to interpretation. If a strong hadith/Quran states something is prhibited then its prohibited, it can't be open to interpretation.

Ridiculous? Its mentioned by the Prophet (saw). The use of musical instruments is prohibited. Yes there are misguided people that recite naats and nasheeds using musical instruments. However, many more recite with just the voice. which is okay.
