C3 Question

I was going to scan this question in, but my scanner has literally died on me :frown:. But if anyone has the Edexcel C3/C4 book can you look at page 177 and question 5a).

I don't understand what they are asking for. Thanks for any help. xx

u do:

8cosx + 5cosx + 8sinx - 5sinx = 0.5 * 26 (half the perimeter)

13cosx + 3sinx = 13

Why do you do that? What is the question asking for?

How would you do q15 on page 87. It's a similar question.

Thats a tough un. Not my faves

The thing is that I can spot how 30, 27cos and 18 sin are divided by 3, I just cant see how they get to it.
