What can I do with a Business Management Degree?

I'm planning on taking a Business Management degree at university, but I don't really know what I can do with it e.g. what type of jobs can I get with it? Preferably salaried jobs.

Thanks.
Anything, really. You could be a business devepment officer/manager or go into marketing, public relations etc esp as an account manager. You could go into retail. It depends on your interests

I did a business management degree. Took some finance modules within this and that led me to apply for an Accountancy big four company, and I got a training contract with them.

Business Management is a broad subject so you're not closing too many doors.

I imagine (correct me if I'm wrong) that you are looking at a degree called Business AND Management. The 'and' is crucial, leaving it out leaves to comments like those above that presume the degree revolves around quite literally managing a business. It doesn't.

Within a Business & Management (BAM) degree you'll have to opportunity to specialise further in later years, while covering a broad spectrum of topics in your first year (well, in most cases, check your own degree to be sure). The career possibilities are vast, it's up to you to find what you want to do. I've just graduated (well fingers crosses, waiting for results) and have offers for Corporate Audit, Business & Tech Consulting and a Marketing all with top employers. The degree can really lead you anywhere (well within reason, it's not going to turn you into a surgeon ).

A business management degree can be used in almost everything you do in life. As a senior manager i use the material from my degree course every day, its so easy to adapt the theory learned to all sorts of business and management issues. From motivational theory to re engage your work force to identifying the factors that drive your business and being successful in delivering it. For me its the most flexible degree with the most use in business and personal life

If u don't mind me asking where did u do Ur degree and what route did u take for example marketing. I'm asking because everyone seems to say business management is a worthless degree but most people jus make assumptions, so I wanted to know how hard was it to find a job an do u think it's worth doing?

I did my degree with uclan, BA HONS Business and Management e learning. I did it all on line a little like the open uni, marketing plays a large part of this degree it covers a wide range of management and business practice. I was already a manager when I did my degree it gave me the theory aspect of what I was doing at work but it allowed me to understand and organise my business activities in a more positive way. I would say to anyone that wants to do a degree that a business degree is well worth doing you can apply it to a very wide range of activities. Hope this has been helpful to you. Good luck.
