Autopsy, favourite DM band, IS THIS MADNESS?
Has anyone listened to any of the Escaping the Ordinary compilations? Pretty sweet mix of rock/metal et al., something for everyone, I think. Personally I think I pretty much like every track  Free downloads as well, so it's a nice way to boost your collection quite easily. Give it a chance even if you don't like a couple of tracks, there's a lot of good stuff on there
Does anyone on here like the Electric Light Orchestra?

or dismember.
Discovered a pretty cool band on youtube the other day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0_4YfJ8u0M&feature=relmfu

they have like a few hundred views, but I think they sound pretty good considering the drummer doesn't even play drums and it's not been 'properly' recorded. don't like the vocals though.. a bit of electric wizard, sleep and kyuss in there.

I like both bands but I can't imagine ever viewing them in anything like such a good light.

I mean, Entombed > Dismember (no arguments) for a start. ;p

well I like both. And Entombed are hardly consistent, there is much more, much better stuff in the Entombed discography.
Autopsy are the best DM band ever. Fact. Even ****fun is good. Macabre Eternal is a modern DM classic, and the first three are in the top 50 DM albums ever, and the first two in the top 20, with Mental Funeral second only to Altars Of Madness (and MA's second best - Covenant - is nowhere near as good as Severed Survival).

I'm not an MA fan, but yeah even SF is good, and acts is probably my favourite. Filthy as **** atmosphere.

I bought Belus the other day with an amazon voucher. I listened to it once all the way through, and I suspect I may never touch it again, save for Glemselens Elv, Belus' Dod and Sveddans.

More people should know about this band:

That particular song just gets better and better for me!

Everyone here should watch this, it's absolutely ridiculous
Only everyone has probably seen it posted around multiple times already. And it's not really funny.

Got this the other day. It's good. The best track has been taken down from YouTube, ALAS.

Has anyone heard of Yawning Man? Basically the band that started desert rock scene in palm springs and influenced Kyuss:

So chilled out and trippy.
Nomadic Pursuits was disappointing. They are great live.

y no share 'Rock Formations' or 'Perpetual Oyster'? Madness.

Just about to listen to THIS!11

One of my most anticipated releases of 2012.

http://reignoflocusts.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/ddsengel-new-songs-2012.html there's two tracks from the new album there which any fan of original sounding extreme metal should appreciate.
Judas Iscariot are pretty good.
Got back from Inferno Fest in Norway yesterday. Was pretty awesome staying in a hotel with a few hundred other metalheads, meeting ICS Vortex and seeing Borknagar/Arcturus/Autopsy/Agalloch/One Tail, One Head and a bunch of others. Did a fun bit of black metal sightseeing also
Sounds great - get any photos on your sightseeing trip?

Unfortunately not, camera decided to get water inside it and break the first day. The black metal gallery was loads and loads of old Darkthrone/Mayhem/Burzum/Trelldom/Old Funeral tapes/demos/t-shirts/flyers and the like. And a recreation of a shed where the 'inner circle' used to hang out. Went into the basement of Helvete (now a coffee shop) where 'Black Metal' is still written...and not much else.

Badass, really enjoyed Dodsengel's last full length, this should be great.

Edit: ****ing hell, two and a half hours? Guess this one isn't going to be an easy listening experience.

Damn, that's got to be annoying!
I think if I ever get myself rich enough to go to Norway I'll be checking these things out.
