Default Dentistry @ Oxford & Cambridge
 
is it just me, or does oxford and cambridge not offer any five year courses to becoem a dentist, becasue i've jsut looked at their sites and nothing is mentioned.

Or maybe, i just missed it, because it doen't really make sense that tehy don't offer it

Nope, neither University offers Dentistry. I *believe* the best courses at London and also Bristol (on first glance, Bristol is ranked low in the recent league tables since they were ranked poorly on labs/facilities <this is according to a dentist at Bristol> but they have now been completely redone and it's supposed to be very good).

I think there very few universities offer dentistry, which is why it's so competitve. I heard somewhere that there are only 6 dentistry courses in the country, but that sounds too low, so don't quote me on that as I can't remember where I got it from and I don't know if it's true or not.

It is indeed more than 6 - http://search.ucas.co.uk/cgi-bin/hsr...rd=DE NTISTRY but not Oxbridge.
