Partypoker would probably be the easiest way to get TSR member playing poker.

Not sure betting with real money will go down well with the moderators, or the potential participants. Isn't there an alternative where you don't be with real money? Unless they limit the pot to a fiver or something.
you can play with play money i think
I play!! Its real fun but I also play loads of other gambling type games (not always with real money  i would be broke otherwise  ) it makes the whole thing more fun though, playing with money, you don't bet senseless amounts when you know its going to cost you!!
partypoker has play money games, so you don't need any money to play  The only problem is you can't make a private table AFAIK.

That's a shame. So I need to find a place online that allows fake money to be used and use a private table. Will look for one.
I would play, but I'm ****ing ****.

We should choose a company, party poker or such, and see if we can setup a free chips poker room or 2. Make it invite only and get your invites here.

Get a facebook account and add the poker application. Can start playing against people all over the world + your friends for free. Start with a few chips and can build your way up through the statuses. Fun!

I have a facebook account. Will look into that.
Facebook poker is rubbish, dire in fact. Triplejack isn't bad for texas holdem although for other styles it's useless.

Yes, I play at Betfair poker.
Yeah I like texas hold 'em. But only casually, I play with friends and often for money but ridicilously low amounts like between £1 and £5. I have also played a little online, win some and lose some. Probably lose a bit more often but then I never play for much, maybe lost like 15 dollars which is fine for the hours of entertainment its like paying for the cinema or something.

The only high buy in I have ever partaken in is in Amsterdams casino which was something like 40 euros. But it was RUBBISH because it was limit poker, which prevents bluffing which is a huge part of the game. I just don't get why people play limit poker?

To quote from another forum........

"A great, loose limit game with one or two action-donks and a couple of stations is a beautiful thing. There's is so much gamble, so many thin edges and great decisions, it can be a beautiful thing. In many ways, you could say limit is formalist, while NL is expressionist. An expressionist can do whatever the hell he wants and call it a poem. But he'll rarely produce something as perfect as a Shakespeare sonnet or one of Donne's violently rigid poems or will's haiku sig."

Limit hold 'em is great if you are an absolute beginner (minimise losses while learning the game), or if you understand that hand values differ from FL to PL to NL (most people don't, which is why I read about one of the Stoxpoker guys being able to make $2.5 milion last year from the nosebleed stakes limit tables online  )

I've play poker often with mates. We usually play £5 each winner takes all, and about 5-6 of us, so a pot of around £30 quid. We usually drink quite alot at the same time:biggrin: so it isn't too serious, just abit of fun. I haven't won in quite a few attempts though, my time with come soon I feel it:p:

10 people at the table. First hand dealt, you have... 3 10 non-suited. The player to your left goes all in, you fold. About 5 people call. Player to your left wins.

Second hand, player to your left has about 5k chips next to your 1k.

Free online poker SUCKS, the skill gets taken out completly, it's just who happens to win that initial all-in fest!
Such a thrill though when you win the initial all-in though ay? :P
