It's really anything you think might be useful to students that we don't already have which could be written
I did begin creating the University of Stirling page but later realised that there already was one! Sorry, I've now deleted my contribution from that page and will work on the existing page - can't believe I just did that. :o

Pretty much every university in the UK has an aritcle, as so some colleges and other institutions

One job that does need doing is going through the 'share revision notes' threads in most of the study help forums and transfer the content over to the relevant sections of the wiki. In most cases the uploaded notes have not been added yet.

Interested in helping out with this? If so, I can give you more pointers on how to do it

Yeah, that'd be great, if you want to send me any tips I'll wait for those, so I don't make another mistake.

OK...just a little advice on how to structure something for the revision note section.

We'll use this as an example: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki...and_Solicitors

Article title
*should always start 'revision'.
*if relevant, and if known, any specifics, such as exam level or exam board suitable for can be named in the title.

Breadcrumbing
*These are the links at the top of the page.
*Open the edit page for the article linked to above to see exactly how a breadcrumb can be formed. Every revision note page should follow a similar structure.

Revision notes
*structure these in any suitable way - this will depend upon the exact content of the notes. Pictures and diagrams are great additions - aks if you need more help with them.

Comments
*At the bottom is a comments section for anything relevant.
*This section should at least contain a link to the user(s) profiles who submitted the notes and a link to the thread/post where they uploaded them.
*You can also inlcude what exam board(s) and exam levels the notes are suitable for and anything else of importance.

Categories
*We break with wikipedia tradition here and add notes to ALL relevant categories - even if they are in a subcategory too.
*In the example we can see the notes in both 'Law' and 'A Level Law'. We sometimes also use topical categories (for example 'mechanics' could be a category in the maths section. Only create these if there are lots of notes for a certain topic - the very long term aim is to properly categorise in to subtopics etc.
*If something is suitable for more than one subject or more than one exam level, exam board etc, then say so/categorise appropriately.

Finally, you might find these pages useful:
*http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki...tes_By_Subject
*http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki...Notes_By_Level

If you add any notes could you also make a post (maybe in a new thread) linking to the exact posts from which you've taken the notes, so we have a record of what has been done. Also, it might be worth double checking something hasn't already been added before you add it

Hope that makes sense and please ask questions if you have them

I'm sorry but I think because I've not been involved in this before its coming across as very complicated, not the wiki editing side, as I've done that before, but rather the way stuff is organised here.

I don't think I should try doing stuff in these sections at least because I've not been around as its grown and would probably do more harm than good.

I've got a bit of experience with international universities, so will try and work on that if you don't mind.

Right

Who wants a job

An article on how to renew your passport for a British Citizen in the UK

Needs to cover how to get the form, the various options available for getting documents checked (you can get them checked in a Post Office IIRC or send them in direct) and a note that this article is not for gaining citizenship. Also what to do if you lose your passport abroad

An article on gaining a visa. Hopefully this will expand into quite an article which will advise students on the types of visas they can get in each country

Hi there, I would really like to put some of my time to good use now that my exams are over.

I could do that article on renewing passports if you'd like.

Or anything else you can think of?!

Perhaps you could let me know how I can best be of help.

I'm not too keen on the introduction to Bangor University. It seems somehow to be very spurious as if it was written by a random generator of University Wiki Pages:

Bangor University is perhaps an average sized university with an average reputation in the city of Bangor in Wales. It has some departments that are very well regarded and seems to have a lot going for it in terms of student activities. So if you go there you'll probably have an all round good time and come out with a good degree.

I was thinking instead of something along these lines:

Formerly a part of the University of Wales, Bangor University was founded in 1884, becoming independent of the UoW in 2007, although degrees are still awarded under that moniker. The University's major selling point is its location, sandwiched between the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and the island of Anglesey. Though primarily located in Bangor, certain departments are located instead in nearby Wrexham. Bangor itself is a small coastal town featuring excellent views and sprawling countryside. A significant proportion of the local population is Welsh-speaking, including the student population (estimated at approximately 30%).

I've edited it in the hope that people will be happy with my improvements and accurate descriptions as opposed to the former rendition, but would appreciate someone with more knowledge to add context and improve on my effort if at all possible. If there's any mistakes in that then please, by all means correct them.

Mate, as long as a student has written it and you haven't copied from wikipedia or the Bangor Uni website, I am happy to see it. Keep up the good work but remember we are not looking for super formal, just good.
