    Edexcel Bio CW help
    Hi,
    First Post on TSR.
Am doing edexcel biology for AS. Section 3:3 asks to evaluate references. I have given a small evaluation, but they ask for "...comments are backed up with some research giving the evidence itself and your own opinion."
What exactly do they mean?

Basically, you've got to be evaluating something about the article/bit of research/whatever specifically. They don't want you to just say 'this is a biased source', they want a specific reference to how/in which way the source is biased.

    So for example,

The source is somewhat limited in that it is biased towards _______.

    [extract from the source]

Then explain that you've chosen this extract to prove that the source is biased, and why etc.

    Hope I've helped a little. :p:

    You have. :yep:
How should I present this; in my paper at the quote, or at the end. Right now I've put a small piece in brackets, but it sounds like for the two marks I'll need something more.

For our cwk, we made a table at the end of the coursework and choose 4-5 sources to evaluate. We had heading like 'Reliability' and under each source we talked about reliability etc., linking it to a specific point like I've mentioned before. I think this is probably the best way to set it out to ensure you're getting all the marks! Good luck.

OK, sounds good. I only have to do two references, but your idea sounds good.
