    HTC Magic
Sorely tempted. Everything I've read has been pretty good, though I've heard the now soft-keyboard takes a bit of getting used to. Anyone privvy to any information I'm not as to why I shouldn't?

Go for it, looks good and HTC make decent phones, software looks nice too, decent camera, I dont see why not, unless you want to wait for the N97 or Palm Pre. Once those come out the new iphone is going to look old and bleak.

I'm tempted to get one too. £90 quidco and a free PAYG handset too if you buy via vodafones website.

How does the Android OS compare to Windows Mobile OS 6.1/6.5?

I dont see the fascination behind Android? Someone please explain to me, I mean most of the UI looks kind of cartoony, it hasnt got that sort of interface that the Iphone or Palm Pre does. Or even symbian for that matter...?

I ordered one today, so will let you know what I think when it arrives. As Carl mentioned above, £90 cashback through Quidco and free PAYG handset as well (which Dad could do with!)

The Magic and Dream (G1) are two of HTC's poorer devices though - they're designed to be cheap rather than good.

They are definately on the lower end of the scale when it comes to quality of phone, they arn't a patch on the Touch HD, Diamond or Pro

    in my opinion anyway
