    My diet...
I'm looking to bulk up and i just implemented an extra 2 litres of whole milk into the program today as i don't think i was having enough before! This is what i had today anyway for example. On non workout days i get up around a hour or so later i guess!

    Breakfast (8.45am) - 3 Weetabix, Branflakes, 500ml whole milk
After Workout (11am) - 1.5 scoops of whey protein
Lunch (1pm) - Chicken sandwich, slice of ham, bag of crisps. 1 litre of whole milk
Mid afternoon snack (3.30pm) - 600ml whole milk, Banana, Apple
Dinner (5.45pm) - Sausage dinner, veg, potatos etc. and ice cream, raspberries, peach for afters.
After dinner snack (9pm) - 600ml whole milk, biscuit

That was today for example, but most days will follow a similar trend now apart from Dinner which could be good one day like the above but bad like chips on another - up to what my mother cooks!

What do people think of it seeing as i'm doing it in the sole purpose to bulk up? Also i'm going to the gym 4 times a week ... Also shall i add something like swimming at some points and when is most effective for that? Cheers.

It's not too offensive. Can't be bothered to estimate; how many calories are you looking at per day?

You may want to add some sugar/dextrose to your PWO drink/shake; though I just usually have a litre of chocolate milk.

Yes, i am looking to get some dextrose and a few other items, but let's say they're not fulfilling gifts atm but i should be getting some of that and some other items within the next couple of weeks hopefully! (omega fish oil and creatine). Where shall i put those 2 things on my diet too? And the dextrose only goes with the whey, that's all?

I'm not a diet freak to be honest. I just make sure I eat a lot and that I'm roughly getting a balanced-ish intake. I'm more concerned about calories, especially if you're just starting. If you're really bothered about 6 packs then pay more attention to your diet, but your size and strength gains will probably be hindered.

Dextrose should just really be taken post workout, as it's very fast acting and that's the only time you really need it. If you're working out before 11AM, I wouldn't wait until 1PM to eat a meal; I'd have it in about an hour. Have the whey/dextrose immediately post workout, then eat a sh** tonne of food for your meal afterwards.

For your PWO shake, don't use the whole milk to mix it, use skimmed or water. The fat interferes with the uptake of __________ (protein or carbs, can't remember but I think it's protein). Have whole milk all other times.

Also make sure you carb up before your workout too.

    What routine are you following?

How many calories are you aiming to have?

So you're saying basically have meal at around 12-12:30?

What do you mean before workout, what should i add, seeing as i have breakfast and then go to gym quite soon afterwards?

Not sure tbh, but more than i was having before, and the 2.5l of whole milk should give me that.

My routine isn't all that great i don't think, seeing i only recently joined the gym the gym instructor gave me a program which has 4 workouts for different body parts each time, usually has 4 machines and 2 free weight exercises each workout. For example i thought i would try a barbell bench press today, and found it much more beneficial than a lot what i am doing. I'll post up the program if you want that im doing?

I'm only really starting though so as i see it i'm getting into weights for really the first time so it won't matter for a few weeks i guess as i started last Monday. I'm next seeing a gym instructor a week monday so i will say what i want to do then, and that will consist of all free weights i guess. Will either be doing http://www.myprotein.co.uk/your-goal...ticle=training or Starting Strength program.
