There are some uni admissions questions
Whether by email or in sessions,
Ones about history, maths and law
That are really quite a bore.

Do Oxford care about deferrals?
Do I need some good referrals?
Does getting two As and a B
Constitute a tragedy?

And what if I didn’t get an A star
In my GCSE drama?
And from one hundred, ninety-three
In my A level chemistry?

But do I need to disclose my marks?
’cos I was having booze and laughs
That year my parents barely knew me...
I don’t think I’m going to uni.

And what about my personal statement?
“It should be so new you’ll need a patent.”

I do english history maths and latin,
Embroidery in silk and satin
Street-dance ballet jazz and tap
Gold D of E without a map.

Is that enough to please admissions?
I don’t know your policy positions.
Perhaps I’ll ask another question
