Default Applying While At Uni?

Hi
I was just wondering if you applied in your like second year of university to join the Air Force.
I've heard that you're accepted based on how many people are required for certain branch. So x people are required one year and x people who passed tests get in.
So if you applied in one year of university would you be accepted based on how many people where needed the year you applied or would it be accepted bases on how many people were going to be required the year your degree finishes. Or do you like just pass your tests etc. and are accepted straight away for the year your degree finishes countless of how many other people may apply etc.
(sorry if the questions worded really weirdly)

People with university sponsorship (which is what you're referring to; there's no deferred entry per se, just sponsorship) are included in the maths for the year they graduate university.

So if you apply in the second year of a 3 year degree, then they'll assume you're probably starting IOT between August and April after graduating.
