Hey guys i would just like your opinion on a small issue
basically i want to do mechanical engineering and am predicted AABa in Maths, physics chemistry and further maths.
Now when applying to unis what happens when i pick ones like warwick bristol and bath where requirements are AAA, does it mean im basically dismissed and so i shouldnt apply there?

It means you have less of a chance of getting an offer if you apply there. They usually recommend you have 1 or 2 optimistic choices (in your case the uni's you mentioned), a couple that you'd expect to get offers from and then an insurance choice in case your grades aren't quite what you expected.

You have 5 choices, so it's not a bad idea to do one or two optimistic choices, as long as you also do two medium ones and an easy one just to be sure you get at least one offer.

If your predicted grades don't meet their standard entry criteria, then you need to have something pertty special about the rest of your application to stand any chance of an offer. Generally, unis ask for AAA because they get enough applicants offering those grades to be able to pick and choose between them. So, unless there's a unique (positive!) feature to your application I would suggest limiting yourself to one AAA choice only. Meeting the basic requirements is not a guarantee of an offer; if it were, all AAA candidates would get into Oxbridge
