Such a great, and in many ways, under-rated band that was quite often over shadowed by Led Zep/ACDC/Queen/Rolling Stones etc.

They created great songs like Don't Stop Believin', Seperate Ways, Anyway You Want It.

What do you music boffins think of Journey?

Pretty darn good.
Although not surprising that they are over shadowed, as apart from a few songs, they have made little or no impact on music today. [In comparison to the others anyway]

I would easily rate Don't Stop Believin' as one of my favourite songs of all time. At the moment it's one of few songs that'll actually get me out of bed in the morning.

Journey have influenced a number of bands, but most importantly are played frequently at sporting events. It has also influenced a number of mediums including movies, books and TV shows (especially Scrubs). There are very few bands that achieve such a thing.

I really like Journey. Funnily enough, I just recommended a couple of their songs to someone on here. I love dont stop believin, it never fails to put me in a good mood. i probably like them so much because my dad is such a massive fan and would play their songs all the time. However, he did say they were very disappointing live.

Was that with Steve Perry or the newer lead singer (the Philipino guy, never liked their work with him singing) ?

Bad times. Apparently they were really good with Perry though.

Where did he see them?
