So, it's late, and I'm wanting to ring my boyfriend - but it seems completely impossible, my phone just isn't making outbound calls. I've tried manually entering his number, even ringing other numbers - like 150, and it still isn't working.

Similarly, tried turning my phone off and on, taking out the sim card and clearing it of dust, etc. - and it's still not working.

I have full signal, 3g signal, no worries about the bill being paid - any ideas?!

Edit: if it's relevant, I'm on Orange and have a Sony Ericsson C902.

What exactly does it do when you try to make a call?

Three beeps, then nothing.
It doesn't ring or even try to connect, just three beeps.

Have you tried doing a hard reset? Tho you'd probably lose everything on the phone memory but as a last resort, or at least back everything up or something?

I'm not expert in Sony Ericssons cos I've never owned one but resetting a phone usually fixes some problems

I have the exact same problem!!!! I thought it was because there was something wrong with my radio and kept on downgrading it and upgrading it until I gave in and tried to seek help!

After messing about with it I could finally get it to work on 2G, whilst with 3G I can't call, text, or download anything so I'm guessing there is something wrong with the network! But when I went to London yesterday and turned 3G on, it worked!!! But back in my hometown in Northampton, 3G still doesn't work!!!

So the fix would be to turn 3G off and lock it to 2G for the time being.

Strangely enough, it's working today.
It must've just been a glitch, but it was a very, very strange one!
