and are we allowed to play on the piano in LTB 6? Does anybody know the locations of other pianos on campus?

they may lock the lecture halls unless you book them, you can walk into the building, you can email someone to ask about being allow to play the piano, i don't know where or who you would ask for that

There are apparently piano rooms you can book which are sound proofed.

But i dont know where they are. If you email the classical music society, they might be able to help you cms@essex.ac.uk

I'll see if anyone on campus whos in the music society can tell me today

Edit: I am in shared accommodation and want to practise my instrument in private, where I can I do this?

The University has three private practise rooms (each with a piano) which are open to all students. To book a room go to the information centre (to the right of SU shop) and write you name down for the time you want on clipboard on the right hand side of the desk. You then return to the information centre at the time you requested to collect key, go to room to practise for an hour and then return the key. Rooms are located in square 3 at bottom of steps, go through automatic doors and follow corridor round. Turn right at the very end of the corridor and the door is straight ahead. The rooms are down a couple of steps.
