To be honest I think this is where we big blokes get a bad rap, cause of the nancy wanna be mens health models who piss around thinkng they own the place but much like a chav with a suped up corsa they are all show and no go.

I suppose it is similar to girls wanting to be slim and wearing makeup etc in a way.

I do it for aesthetics, but I am certainly no cockend and I really dont preach on about how wonderful I am (cos I majorly suck at life). I also think that people who do it for aesthetics at personal and competitive level should differentiated.

Got to agree with this, at a personal level, a lot of people do it for aesthetics to feel good about themselves. Whatever you say about people, a lot of them do lack confidence and feeling that they look better (even if they still look crap compared to some people) makes a big difference to their confidence.

At a professional level, it doesn't seem to be about confidence or feeling good, it just seems to be pure vanity. Plus professional body-builders look unhealthy anyway, having that low BF% just isn't good at all.

Its good to see that there are some decent and sensible people out here who dont just write off the amount of hard work that these guys put in.

Also, as someone pointed out earlier, it is vain. It is the same as us boys being shallow about fat chicks. But, everyone is entitled to there own opinion

Oh agreed, the competative o0nes only look on the ball near comp, off season they carry much more fat and bulk and really do not look like 'Bodybuilders' as we see in the mags.

The fact that their definition of fat is moronic makes me think they are moronic. Seriously what kind of 'tard thinks fat means the same as wide. Why to these threads always bring out the complete idiots?

People are starting to get upset now and take offence, sorry guys but I think it's time for the thread to close.

The take home message - looks are subjective.
