This Wednesday is reading week, so be warned; there aint gonna be as many peoply milling around on campus. Don't take this as a bad thing Campus is usually buzzing day and night. The atmosphere and the people here are amazing.

And yes, Mile End is barely East End, even though its classified as E1. A friend of a friend who goes to Uni of East London has experienced the true East End!

I have only seen Manchester, to say it is nice~ but I've only really experienced the science section. According to the times guide, Manchester is higher in general, but Queen's Mary is the only one I can really see on the Law list. 8D; I'll put my foot out for Manchester; it is a good Uni, and you prefer the area. You're going to ahve to live there for four+ years, it's best to go along with that. xD!

...I was directed here from latest posts, thus I probably should have left this alone for my lack of experience in Law. 8D; Past 'Law and Order' and 'The Guardian', or course.

Dude it's hardly the East End, from Stepney Green it's about 15 minutes to Embankment on the Tube, even closer from where I live (Whitechapel). Also, you have places like Brick Lane, Shoreditch, Hoxton nearby if that's your sort of thing. Buses into Central every 10-15 minutes

(But avoid the 25 )

I used to study law for degree, and I found out that the University of Manchester has one of the countries best law schools.
Cambridge is the best option, thought it is extremely difficult to get into Cambridge, I'd say Manchester is the next best thing (for law especially).

Manchester is a great student city. London really isn't.

My friend goes to Queen Mary, she's in her final year. She's said it is a lovely university to go to and apparently it has really good links with Clifford Chance for the Pro Bono work experience. I just got this from their website:
"Clifford Chance has been working with the Queen Mary Student Pro Bono Group since 2004. Law Students from Queen Mary come along twice a week to the legal advice sessions held by Clifford Chance in conjunction with Community Links at Stratford and Canning Town. The students sit in and observe the sessions as well as help the advisers with follow-up research."

Well done on the offers though

I'm going to visit Queen Mary Law School on Wednesday for its Open Day – hopefully I will be able to make a good decision after that and a visit to Manchester.
Mile End is fine...there's nothing wrong with it. Have you been there?

Manchester is the next best thing to Cambridge for law? How many places have you studies law at? Have you looked at the rankings, employment statistics, and so on? I find it difficult to believe that Manchester is better for law than UCL, KCL, LSE, and Oxford. Perhaps for some people Manchester is a better course or a better place, and that's fine. But it isn't the next best law school to Cambridge for most of the people hiring lawyers.
