Default Alternatives to Medicine?

I have had my heart set on being a doctor since I was about 6, however it has dawned on me that, with only 2 A*s at GCSE, having a caring personality and healthy interest in the human body will not be enough to get me into a decent university. Can anyone suggest any careers I could look into, or HE courses that would be suitable for me?
A levels: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths
Edit: I'm not giving up, I'm just interested to see some different ideas.

GCSE don't matter as much (unless to apply to GCSE nazi schools) as A levels...get good A levels and your results won't matter

2A*s is fine What makes you think it's sub-standard?

Definitely do not give up. If you are really passionate about medicine, there is always a way in. If you do your research thoroughly, there are plenty of universities who really don't look at GCSEs (e.g. Newcastle, Keele). Get a good personal statement and a strong UKCAT and you'll be in a terrific position.

Chemistry!!! or anything with Chemistry and another subject.

My backup incase i don't get into med school is chemistry with management and i already have an interview at UCL for it.. it's a great course..still the same mental stimulation and it leads to very good career prospects...chemistry is no easy subject so it says something to have a degree in it !

but don't give up !

you could do a degree in a science subjeect and then do graduate entry medicine.

also if you get AAB at alevel and have a-c in all your GCSEs then you do have a good shot at med school. there are a few that require really high grades at GCES but generally good alevels will be fine. just because it seems that everyone else has hundreds of A*s it does not mean that they will be a good doctor or in fact good enough for medical school.

i say go for medicine if yoou get the AAB at alevel.

biomedical sciences, neuroscience, audiology, pharmacy. Just open any university prospectus and you'll find loads of degrees.

Hey, you want to be a doctor, right? Where's your determination gone? Where's your commitment gone? Nothing worth having comes easy!
