The word "chav" is a word used by the current bourgeoisie to describe many of a class lower than themselves. It's discrimination and it needs to be stopped. Using the word is an expression of the attitude of my current generation. I worry about the future of this world a lot.

Balls. "Chav" isn't just laughing at poor people or "proles". For a start, the people I, and others, call "chavs" are often rich and well off. Nike trakkies don't come cheap you know- you do get middle class chavs. It isn't about your class, it's about your attitude.

Chavvism is a lifestyle*. There are chavs from many different social backgrounds, occupying many different parts of different social strata in the UK. It's not classist to call someone a chav, since it is not realistically applied to any one class, rather individuals from different classes. The only people who think it's a classist term are Guardian readers.

*I am aware that chavs do not have any sense of style
