Accounting and Accountancy are your two options here at Coventry (Accountancy is a 'better' degree that is single honours, while Accounting can be studied with Finance/Economics/Business).
The Accountancy course is varied but specific (not much choice in modules), and has lots of exemptions from professional quals

Doing one of the joint honours courses give you options but usually less exemptions.
The lecturers are all really nice- the programme manager is lovely, and a couple of others definitely stand out. You do have to be prepared to work hard (especially for an Accountancy degree), but that's uni for you.
Accountancy may not
require a degree, but it is highly recommended. It will get you places quicker, and the experience is invaluable. Plus, you still get exemptions! (It means you don't have to do that particular exam when you get to the professional quals). It is especially valuable for CIMA as you can skip the base level qualification entirely.
After the degree, you need three years experience and some more exams to get your CIMA or ACCA qualification, then the world is your oyster (lots of CEOs are accredited, and CFOs pretty much have to be).
I'm sure there are loads of questions- I'm a BA(Hons) Accountancy third year student, so just quote or PM me
