Well, what's in the title really.

Thinking of going to Paris over NYE with my friends, it's easy enough with Eurostar. However, we need somewhere relatively cheap to stay.. we've done the hostel thing in Stockholm, that's no issue. Somewhere cheap and clean please, don't care if it's a hostel or whatever.

Tbh, cheap Paris at NYE... is this even likely? I'm guessing it's not, prices will be massively jacked up, but you never know. Any ideas/experience people?

Don't ask me stuff like 'whereabouts in Paris' because I've no idea really.

My brother stayed in a Campanile when he was in Paris over the summer.

Pretty much like a French version of a Premier Inn.

Ibis hotels are pretty similar.

No idea on NYE though.

check the easyjet hotel website, but keep an eye out when your booking cheap paris hotels as they could be way out on the outskirts and need you to travel in!

you aren't going to find a hostel in paris for less than 25 euros a night
and they may even put them up for NYE
either way, they'll all book up very quickly

I want to go for a weekend over Christmas... I don't like hostels. I wouldn't mind something like the Premier Inn so I'll look into Campanile

To be honest, Paris isn't the place I'd go for NYE. We didn't even have fireworks last year (though plenty of tourists turned up and were disappointed...)

Formule 1 will be cheaper, but they're a bit mean about providing stuff like towels

Ok thanks I'll only be going for a short time so I'll take my own towels

What district/s should I be staying in? Can I stay somewhere within walking distance of everything? What must I see and what should I overlook visiting?

You can walk from one side of Paris to the other in a few hours, so I guess everything is walking distance in a sense... If I were you I'd get the cheapest I could find which is accessible by metro.
