Hi everyone, Im thinking of applying to Huddersfield to study Nursing. What's like it like as a town for students when it comes to people, accommodation, nightlife, etc.

the town is good, plenty of shops (largest town in Europe)

Nightlife great there is something on everynight for students and i would honestly there is some of the best choice of accomodation in the country here.

Huddersfield is NOT the biggest town in Europe!

Not even in the UK, Reading is a town in Southern England and is bigger than Huddersfield.

Huddersfield is a large Northern Victorian market town. The nightlife is OK. Not much to do during the day there.

Huddersfield IS the largest town in Europe, actually. Although, I can't remember whether it's by area or population density.

Also, Reading has a population of 143k. Huddersfield has a population of 146,000.

No.. Actually it's NOT the biggest town in Europe, fact.

Just to confirm it IS the largest town in europe by area if you incorporate the Kirklees district into it.

Living in Huddersfield, I would have to say it's a rather friendly, charming town with plenty of local history eg. castle hill and a thriving nightlife. The shopping is improving and it's location is second to none. Smack bang in the middle of Leeds and Manchester as well as equidistant between the pennines and the peak district for all those walkers out there!

The town has 2 brilliant sporting teams in Huddersfield Town of League One and the Huddersfield Giants of the Super League who both play in the award-winning Galpharm stadium. Not to mention the University chancellor is Patrick Stewart!

i want to go to huddesfield to (studying medical biology) is it close to leeds coz i hear that is a great place for shopping.
