got this big information pack from aber today and they invited me to go to an informal interview some time next year. looking forward to it although i will probs have to miss a few days of college, think ill take one of my mates wiht me though and see what they think before i decide if aber will be my firm or insurance. its go to be a difficult decision

Has Aber given you an offer yet then or is this an interview to see if they want to give you an offer?

Congrats to everyone with offers! I hope to be joining you as an offer holder, if my application is ever sent off that is. (college is irritating me. )

Is there anyone else applying for International politics, and if so how long to offers (or god forbid, rejections ) tend to take?

yeh i got a conditional offer for law for 280 ucas points. i was gettin really worried cos my ucas didnt get sent from my college till the 3rd of nov and people were already getting offers but i heard back from aber on the 10th and got the pack through today.

it just says we would like to invite u to an informal interview as u have recieved an offer from us and there loadsa different dates that u can attend. it also says that they show you around so think it will be a bit like an open day but with u knowing that u have a place there if u meet the offer

Hey, my offer took about three weeks, but I applied in January when they were probably less busy, so don't panic!

I can't remember when I sent off my application, but I remember that Aber was definitely the first to get back to me. Cardiff was last and they wanted higher grades despite being much lower in the department that I went into than Aber. Snobs.

I have a question, A random one but a important one for me; what's the internet connection generally like? I live in an area with awful internet speeds, so it will be nice to know.

During peak times it can be pretty slow, like, videos will have trouble buffering. At off times it's pretty fast (Aber is the broadband hub for West Wales, IIRC).

Sure, the internet on campus is fine, once you've set it up (which you can do in all halls of residence I believe) Also there are loads of computer rooms, in the library, the union, all halls, even some in town I think at the old college.They have the odd technical problem but that can happen anywhere- it only happened once in my halls last year.
However internet in town isn't so good in my experience, it's a lot slower than on campus and a bit intermittent in some places, but you'll be in halls for your first year anyway.
