    Really want an apprenticeship
Hi ,, I'm currently in year 11 studying for my GCSE's and really not interested in studying full time after this year .

Looking for an apprenticeship to start after I leace school for the simple reason I love the idea of 'earning and learning' .

    Things I'm interested in are IT/Telecoms , Accountancy/Finance and Sport .

Im not really a hands on person so construction/plumbing/electrician isn't really for me .

I live in Wrexham , North Wales which does have good transport links to Chester , North West England .

Any suggestions /advice would be much appreciated.

    Re: Really want an apprenticeship
From a quick google search I found the following websites:
    http://www.apprenticeships.org.uk/
    https://www.careerswales.com/home.asp
    http://www.lantra.co.uk/young-people...ip-faqs-wales/

If you're interested in IT telecoms have a look at the Virgin Media Apprenticeship Scheme to see if its available in your area.
If its finance/accountancy, have a look at courses offered by the AAT http://www.aat.org.uk/ my boyfriend is currently studying with them on a distance learning course.
Hope thats of some sort of help to you

You can try to search on Totaljobs.com for some apprenticeship there or can google search any related stuff in Wales. Look for quality ones and affordable too.

    Hi tjr123,

We offer a sports apprenticeship - it's a Government funded training programme that takes 3 weeks. We then support you into your first job where you complete an NVQ. You can train to be a lifeguard, activity leader, leisure attendant, fitness instructor or sports coach assistant.

It's a really good stepping stone to a further career in sport. In your age group (16-18) the training would also be free (paid for by the Government).

Here's a link if you want any further information - Lifetime Health and Fitness

Try some of the big television companies like Sky and Virgin to see if they have any apprenticeship schemes that you might be interested in.
