Hmm how do you feel about the area that Goldsmiths is in? And how long does it take to get to Central London from there? And is there a nice atmosphere at Goldsmiths? It's quite a small university, just like my previous university, and that one was miserable atmosphere-wise.

Thanks!

New Cross is rough but to be honest it don't phaze me as I'm from the east end of london so there on the same level... some people may think its proper "ghetto" but to be honest its just more "real" to me..
New Cross is rough but then its not far away from nice places like Greenwich.. so if you don't want to live there you can always live in Greenwich...

If you take national rail its 6 minutes to London Bridge BUT lucky for you east london line will be back ( hope so) so that will be an easy way into central london via canada water or even whitechapel.. and that will be about 20 mins?

So 30 mins is most likely the travel time into and out of central london depending where your at..

Yes its small...but it has an awesome vibe... its very forward yet laidback in its thinking.. people are generally nice and i think the small number makes it more of a tight community to be honest.. i quite like it has a very edgy vibe to it..

what was ur old uni?

Hope that answers ur questions..

I don't mind rough areas as such, I just heard New Cross was a boring place. I'll spend as much time as possible in the centre. I guess that's what most Goldsmiths students do?

My previous university was in Brussels, glad I got out of there! I live in Paris now, which has many rough areas too, so I think New Cross will probably not seem that bad to me By what you said about its artistic and laid back vibe, Goldsmiths sounds like it's the best place for me to study. So thanks a lot for answering my questions .

Yes - I got ABB and around 400 points - Unistats for my course are much lower than that but still I liked it and so I'll give it a go - I think!

I won't be able tosay much about stuff happening in new cross but there loads of pubs etc where lots of students tend to go to... cutty sark/greenwich not far off at all or the dome/02 so things are a small bus ride or even walk away so its not to bad
