it seems like Merton's taking their time compared to other colleges...the waiting game continues..but we'll find out soon enough i suppose

ALSO, general question:

since Oxford gives out its offers around Christmas time... if you didn't get one in December.. you'd know that you're rejected right (cuz all the rejections go out in January)...
just wanted to confirm?

Not true (whether that's good news or not; I don't know! ). I was reading an interview wiki today and I happened across a lad who got his acceptance letter on the 3rd January.

Imagine what a stressful Christmas he had
lol.

Indeed. It's not a factor as colleges operate at different speeds. I wouldn't worry until 7th Jan, though most offers and rejections are sent before Christmas.

Regardless of the outcome of our Oxford applications, I think this Christmas is going to be an especially drunken one for those of us who drink

...you're all talking about the offers as if they're just 'round the corner'... most of us haven't received our invites yet! ()

The offer and rejection letters are sent out at the same time, so you won't know whether or not you got in until the letter arrives (or phone call).

I know I'm mega-late joining this thread but I too am spending an astonishing amount of time worrying about whether or not I'll get interview / what to do in the event I am (or am not) invited.
So to clarify, no English applicants have received invites yet, have they? Or at least no St John's English applicants have?

dunno i guess not cause oxford tends to send the invites in a rather weird pattern
they should think economically and just send invites to internationals before
UK citiezens
I mean tickets tend to get more expensive the closer you get to the date
either ways
any ppe offers in yet ?
also anyone else applying for Pembroke ?

If you haven't heard, the others probably haven't either.

I'm still waiting to hear from Merton for Biology, too...
Hope that means that the Merton-Biology-tutors are a bit slow and not that I'm rejected!

No!

E & M interviews are on the 9th, aren't they? So you could still be waiting until around the 2nd and even later...if you haven't heard 4 days before, then you should start to be worried...
