also it has its own library and stuff. i kind of regret not joining, but they never get any speakers i'm interested in, so it wouldn't have been worth it.

Yes I get bitchy when I'm in charge of something
Also, who's going to queerfest tonight?
I'm sorry! I set the alarm for 8.30am so that I could be vaguely awake, showered and dressed in time for the rehearsal but clearly something went wrong coz I only woke up just after 10am and was feeling pretty dazed

If I win...I guess I can't let the extra vote go to waste so I'll need someone to come down with me. You'd be quite welcome. I mean I'd send an email to jcr folks asking them if they wanted to come down but lets face it what're the chances of that happening.
Must read quicker. Two hours to read 40 pages is just ridiculous.
Nor I, and considering the close correlation between your TSR name and your real name, that was quite inobservant of me.
Two hours to read 40 pages sounds about right to me.

In other news, this is my second Branos burger of the week. I think this officially makes me a bad person. Especially given that I had to give the Tutor for Women my dress size today, so she can buy me a "pretty dress" for playing the role of Peace in her medieval play. Branos probs increases one's dress size significantly

that's pretty exciting! it doesn't say how much it costs though, or have any other info, which is a pain. guess i could go down and ask. it'd be nice to be able to be eligible to go to speakers, since my boyfriend's pretty weird about having me go as a guest...

The relevant Standing Orders section (Rule 53, if you're interested) says Educational Members are "entitled to be admitted to the Society's debates, addresses by distinguished persons, the reading- and writing-rooms, and to the Old and New Libraries for the purpose of using therein any of the books", and that "the said termly sum shall bear a reasonable relationship to the monthly subscription which is due from a Life Member paying his Membership fee by Banker's Order", so it shouldn't be masses - but yeah, ask.

I don't like chain cafes, even if they do tend to have the nice chairs, because the service is never as friendly and the tea is never as good.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I could begin my search?
There's this cafe up St Giles which has two rickety rooms with sofas, chairs and tables and free WiFi (although not, I think, at lunchtime due to laptop vs. lunchers space issues). The windows aren't very big, which might be annoying in the summer, but is quite nice around now and it's not very busy outside peak hours. I think that it's Greens Cafe, although there's a slight possibility that it's the one next door to that.

Not just reindeer adults either I'm still trying to work out if I can be there (realistically it will depend if I'm still upright, as I need to be in the lab for/soon after 7ish).
The play sounds really interesting - I thought about it, then decided I was probably old and wouldn't have time - worth coming to watch if I can get in though!
Re Branos: erm...maybe I'm sure as long as you don't have them every day between now and the Mary plays it'll be ok
