Right, so I'm armed with red Feria hair dye and a Garnier highlighting kit (the one for dark hair), and my hair's currently mid-dark dyed brown. I don't want a Ginger Spice streaky look, I just want different tones of red. So I was going to do the highlights first then dye it - but would the dye just make it all the same colour? However, if I use the highlighting kit after dyeing (which it advises), won't it just strip the dye and give a highlight of my natural hair colour?

Confused! Help!
