    when did you buy furni etc for student accommodation
    when did you start buying things for your student room to make it feel more homely like mirrors, curtains, pots and pans,

    should i wait or buy now.

    Got mine a few weeks before leaving. You only really need food stuff. There'll probably be a mirror and definitely some curtains in your room.

    University Curtains are horrible, so I plan on buying my own Lol

    In my halls, you weren't allowed to change the curtains because they had special fireproofed ones.

    It's silly to start buying stuff now really, unless you have a massive house with loads of storage space going spare. I bought my stuff like, two weeks before I left.

    Pound shops, Wilkos and Ikea are all cheap but good bets

    Nah just leave it till well nearer the time. Or even just pick up odds and ends if you see them on offer.

    I didn't buy anything until after results day. I then gradually collected more and more things through the first year - no matter how prepared you think you are, there will be things you realise you need well into your first year - the worst thing I didn't realise about my accomodation until I moved in was that, for some unfathomable reason, the bedrooms in my hall had been kitted out with dreadful striplights that let a really horrible, unhomely, bright white light. Lamps were very quickly acquired (Wilkinsons is a brilliant, brilliant shop!)
