Answer "you're a ****" to every question and you should avoid the embarrassment of being head of the prefects.
All the prefects at my school were the quiet teacher kiss-asses who everyone hated and had no friends so resorted to the prefect system to try and get power instead. Needless to say it didnt work and they were just ignored by everyone. -
Re: Head Boy Interview
Agreeing with what others are saying. However there were some perks for me when I was a senior prefect. Me and my friends spent the first few weeks/months doing the duty of not letting people through a certain door (we had no idea why people weren't allowed through- it just lead outside) then after that we didn't bother. However we got the prefect centre thing at breaks away from all the year 7s (with a radio which somebody melted with the heater by accident) AND a free trip to Edinburgh!
The rest of the prefects were cocks though. The head boy was a total ******. As for questions, probably the usual generic 'why' questions. -
Re: Head Boy InterviewHi! I'm head girl for my school, and for the interview, we were asked questions like: "How would you manage your time?" "What are your goals for the future and how would being head boy/girl help you achieve this?" "What are your weaknesses?""You are given xyz as a task. How would you go about it?" "What has been your biggest achievement at this school?"(Original post by InItToWinItGetIt?)
I have an interview for the position of Head Boy on thursday and was just wondering what sort of questions people have got asked. Was it just standard interview questions or were there some weird ones as well?
Stuff like that....you get the picture.
Hope that helped! Good luck!

I'm just a bit worried because one of my friends got asked ''If you had to fire one of your teachers who would it be'' so I was just wondering how common these type of questions were.
Did you have to write an application letter? If so did they ask questions about what you had written? -
Re: Head Boy Interview
Since we're on the internet, I'll be frank: I really thought I wanted to be headboy - though I had no idea of the amount of stress it all entailed (I did have a general clue - thinking + experiencing = different).
The process for my school was as follows: each year 12 had to write a mission statement, in it stating why they think they should be chosen as headboy/headgirl.
The twelve "finals" then had to have an interview (6 boys/6girls).
All my achievements, sporting and otherwise, were taken into consideration as was my overall conduct during the interview.
I spoke with confidence (not arrogance) and was honest about my strengths and weaknesses.
They asked me why I wanted to be headboy, how it would better the school, etc.
I never sucked up to anybody btw...the ones who did ended up prefects.
There was an overall concensus: the students and teachers voted. The principal had the final decision.
I was chosen. It was hell though...fights with prefects, countless speaches, had to be the best at everything (though I wasnt), etc. -
Re: Head Boy InterviewThey're not common at all! That doesn't sound like a very appropriate question anyway! Yeah, we had to write an application letter but strangely enough, I wasn't asked anything relating to it...but it is highly likely so you might want to read up on it before...in case you miss something...but the most important thing is to be yourself and be really confident. Even if you are terrified, just relax and know that you are going to do well...it's all about the mental preparation(Original post by InItToWinItGetIt?)
