Having a full timetable in S6? (ie. 5 subjects)
Hiya! I was sure I'd only be taking 4 subjects this year, but I've recently been considering doing 5. My first plan was to do AH English, and Higher Geography, French and Sociology, but I've changed my mind and want to resit Maths and Biology instead of doing AH English and Higher French. I could carry on with AH English as well as those four, but I don't know if it's really for me. I want to apply for Geography and I know that depending on the place, universities will either ask for more science (of which, I only have a C in Biology) or for more arts (A in English, B in History and a C in French) subjects for it.

The choices I have (the easiest to fit around the other four subjects, anyway):
    Accounts
    Chemistry
    PE
    Physics

I'm thinking Physics might be my best bet? However, that means I'd be crashing it and I've already missed a few weeks of work. I got a 1 in SG Chemistry but I know it's really very hard. Also, has anyone here done another five highers in their sixth year, and how did you find it? Sorry if this is confusing, haha.

What did you get in maths this year? I think resitting it's only really sensible if you got another C there.

Caveat: I know nothing about geography.

F in maths, I was just lazy all year. I'm certain I could pass it if put more work in this year.

What do you want to do at uni? If its anything vaguely science related, I would highly recommend you take Maths again.
    edit@sorry realised you said geography.

Well if you got a 1 in chemistry why not do higher, trust me at first you'll find it hard but you'll definatly cope to be hounest, i got a 2 in my final exam and got a B in Higher, now thats kinda a big jump, cause most people in my class had a 1 in their Standard grade exam and i was on the only one with a 2 and i still done better than some people, so do consider chemistry, you might enjoy it

I don't know... my best friend did it last year (got a B I think) and she was pulling her hair out all year because of it (ironically, she's doing Adv. Higher now), and another friend gave up halfway through the course and came out with a N/A. Plus, I never really loved Chemistry. I know that it's a lot of work even for someone who's good at it.

You should definitely considor taking Geography. As you might not know it is a sub-science. I got a 1 in SG and doing Higher this year. I think you'll manage.

The OP is doing Geography and wants to apply for Geography at uni. They're asking for advice about other subjects - plus this thread is old-ish and decisions have probably been made.
