Where to study Computing?
Hi!
Well, this is a plan for the future, because I live in Spain, but I like to have all planned for the future.
I decided to study a "High level vocational training" of computing, I start next monday. But, I realized that I needed more studies for develop a good career.
I found a couple problems with the undergraduates courses in Spain:
- Limited choices
- I am terrible with maths
When I say limited choices, I want to mean for example in the UCLAN you have: Health Informatics BSc, Computing BSc, System Management BSc, etc. but in Spain we only have Computing BSc and Software development BSc. Both have a good charge of programming which is not my main interest and also a lot of maths.
I researched some universities at United Kingdom, obviously I ruled out Cambridge, Oxford and Imperial College London because I wanted a undergraduate course which doesn't have maths. As this is impossible in Spain, it seems I found some universities in UK that at first, I think they have courses without maths, like in UCLAN. Concretly I am interested in one of this:
- "Computing, BSc" -> http://www.uclan.ac.uk/information/c..._computing.php
- "Forensic Computing, BSc" -> http://www.uclan.ac.uk/information/c..._computing.php
- "System Management, BSc" -> http://www.uclan.ac.uk/information/c...management.php
I am a bit lost with the education system on UK, so I hope somebody could help me with my doubts.
I will be very grateful if you give me some recommendation or whatever you find important.
I also have to say that I have heard that I could homologate my "high level vocational training" and convalidate some subjects of the undergraduate course, but I do not know if this is 100% true.
Thanks in advance for everything. -

It's been a while since you posted and nobody's replied yet...maybe you should check out MarkedbyTeachers.com, TSR's sister site. It has the largest library of model essays in the UK.
They've got over 168,000+ essays, projects, assignments, coursework etc.. all written by GCSE, A Level and Uni students. You get access either by publishing some of your own work, or paying £5.99 for a month's access. Both ways give you unlimited access to all of the essays.
All their documents are submitted to Turnitin anti-plagiarism software, so it can't be misused, and the site’s used by hundreds of thousands of UK teachers and students.
Hopefully you'll find it useful
