    Engineering suppercurricular?
So what did all the engineers on here do to show that they are "enthusiastic" about their subject. I am enthusiastic about the subject, but most places won't take 6th formers on internships. Best I've got is watching a couple of tv programmes and reading up on the growing engineering sector in my country.

Any reading that can be recommended? Thinking of asking my head of 6th form to set up an engineering society - like we've got a medicine one in school.

You don't need internships or work experience to show enthusiasm. Ask yourself why you want to be an engineer.

Here is a good reading list

Things you can do to show enthusiasm

    Hope this is helpful

go show off your engineering skills and build a functioning blast furnace

    or a hydro electric dam

or a truss bridge over a nearby ravine
