    whats carroll court like?
hello alll, ive picked uwe as one of my options for biomedical science

and i think i would only be able to afford carroll court and still have some student loan left for food.
does anyone have photos or anything?

and it says tv point is in the communal area, can you not have a tv in your room then?

and does it have wifi or just a ethernet port?

    thanks to everyone who replys

    Its s h i t, in a word.

the rooms are cold, pokey and badly set out. There is only an ethernet port, which may or may not be anywhere near your desk. there are no power points near the desk either, which is useless.

The walls are so thin you can hear people blink in the next room. The shower is akin to standing under a hamster pissing into a collinder

you can have a tv in your room but you will have to pay for your own licence; thats pretty standard anywhere. good luck trying to get a signal.

(*edit* this site censors sh it but not pissing? holy ****, thats ******* pathetic.)

student village is a rip off ^_^ they give you a free ethernet cable anyways, theres a socket right under the desk, the showers are fine if you aint a little girl, and who the **** watches tv anyway? iplayer and 4od will be fine, rest of the time you'll probably be out.

Go city centre dude. Frenchay is a joke to live in i've heard. Student Village is a rip off and Carrol Court... well you only need to look at it to realise it's such a **** hole. So yeh go city centre, much better nightlife there and it's cheaper plus no taxi costs.

Late reply but THIS, seriously. Frenchay's full of ***** and CC is a bit ****, I lived there in first year. Centre's amazing, plenty of cheap halls and obv great access to shops and nightlife. You'll need to get a bus/bike to uni but it's well worth it.
