Hi all, unsure as to whether I have identified all the correct entities so any advice would be greatly appreciated, creating my first LDS

Here is the Case study

PART A : Your assignment
You are a member of staff of Sun Systems, a small software consultancy, based in Northampton, which specialises in assisting small businesses with IT solutions. Your task is to read the information set out in PART B about the small business "BUYnSELL" and then produce the deliverables set out in PART C.

PART B : Buy And Sell Case Study

Buy and Sell is a small specialist outlet for second-hand recordings, based in the Hip-Hop Café just off Southwick Seafront. They have a relatively low turnover at present, having only been established for six months after a discussion between customers interested in specialist recordings resulted in the owner of the café, Peaches Smyth, dedicating a small internal room of the café to evaluating the business opportunities.
a) Business Activities:
During a fact-finding visit you made to the company a few days ago you learned the following about how the business is currently run. You also received some examples of existing documents used in the business, given below, and some possible data input screens.

The business centres on the sale of recordings (DVD, CD, Video, Compact Cassette and Vinyl are all possible though CD's predominate). Someone wanting to sell a recording brings it in and registers as a seller. The CD is marked with their Surname and Phone number to identify it, and with the price expected. Customers can view the CD's and try them out in the Café. When a customer wants to purchase the CD they pay the price to the Café owner who records the sale in a log (example enclosed as Appendix A). When a seller enquires, and in any case every month, Peaches totals up the amount due to sellers and pays them, keeping 15% of the sale price to cover costs.
b) Likely Problems
Peaches has studied ICT to the level of the ECDL. She is aware that, though the log works perfectly adequately at present, analysing it to evaluate payments would become increasingly burdensome as turnover increases. Furthermore stock control will become a problem as a separate log will need to be kept of items for sale, and linking the two will not be easy.
c) Proposed Solution
She would like a database solution created that will
a) cover her present needs
b) allow for expansion, particularly the recording of items for sale
c) produce a list of new items for sale for a newsletter.
d) permit her to group identical recordings from different sources
e) act as an outlet for her entrepreneurial brother who attends business closure auctions and buys multiple copies of CD's as remaindered stock.
f) permit more information to be held about recordings, sellers and transactions. She would particularly like to arrange that each recording had:
a. a sale price
b. a minimum price that could be haggled down to
c. the actual transaction price
d. its artist
e. its basic musical style – drum'n'bass, World, Gregorian chant, pop
More details also need to be held about Sellers, so she can contact them regularly with their payments
g) provide management information about
a. monies owed to different sellers
b. music styles/artists that sell particularly well
So far I have Identified these possible entities

  • BuyAndSell Company
  • Company / Cafe owner Peaches
  • Seller
  • Log / Database (Are these even entities lol)
