Computing coursework WJEC help
So we just got our scenario
http://www.wjec.co.uk/uploads/publications/11268.pdf
And had a few quick questions regarding the project
1. Are we allowed to design the project in photoshop?
2. Can we have as many forms as we like and the size of them?
3. Any tips on what to incude in the project(not asking for the code, just ideas on how to get high marks regarding the scenario eg, incude a search box?)?
4. Any past scenarios and sample projects for visual basic?
Thanks you for helping! -
Re: Computing coursework WJEC help
1. Are we allowed to design the project in photoshop?
Now, you didn't say you were doing a GUI interface, but assuming you are, then you can "design" the UI in anything you want. it's a "design" after all, not a prototype. You can even "design" on paper and scan it for your documentation. If you're talking about a logo, then, go for it. Don't waste much time, though.
2. Can we have as many forms as we like and the size of them?
It's your project. The brief is really all you do get. Don't think about forms; think about the tasks you want your user to be able to do. That might lead you to a number of forms.
3. Any tips on what to incude in the project(not asking for the code, just ideas on how to get high marks regarding the scenario eg, incude a search box?)?
Expand on the scenario. Analyse it to see what other tasks or features your user might actually need. Very clear well-written measurable objectives are most important. Read the mark scheme at the back of the specification (same web site). It tells you exactly how to earn points.
4. Any past scenarios and sample projects for visual basic?
None, I'm afraid. Your teacher might have a past example from a previous year.
Advice: Do the work the right way around. Analyse+Design+Implement. If you do it backwards, it is always very obvious. Write well-laid out and well-commented code. Write informative clear documentation that demonstrates your understanding of the "process" of software development. It's not only a "can you code?" project.
Good Luck. -
