    Losing one's best friend
As the title indicates, I've lost my best, and quite frankly only, friend. I won't bore you with the details, but we had a disagreement the other day over something terribly insignificant, nothing out of the ordinary from usual tiffs. However, it seems to have had an unexpected longevity. By this point we are usually speaking again, and have fallen out over far worse things in the past; now this person has made an uncharacteristically snide, and for some unfathomable reason, a really rather hurtful remark. I won't ever see this person again after the end of the month and I've only one other friend, but they're at uni living their own life while I'm stuck in my room.

I made a thread a few months ago because I was feeling down:

I had a temporary moment where I was content and now I'm worse than usual.

Have you ever lost a friend you thought you'd know forever? Any advice?

    Yeah, dont worry about it.

Its hurtful and sad at first, but when you get to uni, you'll meet other people and soon realise that it was for the best. But you may also just need some time apart and contact eachother later, because people change all the time.

    :console:

Yeah, last year. It still seems surprising that we're not friends any more.

No one ever sticks with me. I think I'm jinxed. :mmm:

In the end, you just deal with it really and move on. Hope it works out for you. :flybye:

Many think of friends as family, but the reality is that as we mature, get jobs, relocate, get married and start families etc., we develop new friends and the old friends sort of take the back burner as acquaintances. Life does go on.
