Anyone else applied to York?
Hello,
I've been stalking this page since sending off my application, and haven't seen anything about York so I thought I'd make a thread to see if anyone else has applied there. It's actually my second choice - got rejected by the first a couple of weeks ago
because of my degree subject, but to be honest I'd be just as happy with any of my choices! It's a shame you have to rank them, I don't see why the GTTR can't send your form to all the choices at once like UCAS does with undergraduate applications.
Has anyone heard from them yet? It's almost two weeks since my application went to them and I'm getting worried. I know that the TDA haven't been given the allocation information yet, but are they rejecting people they don't want to interview or holding interviews yet? Maybe I should ring them... but I wouldn't know what to say!
(I know my application is a bit risky as my degree subject isn't exactly the same as the secondary subject I've applied for, but having spent a year teaching my own subject - straight from uni - I've found I was better at/enjoyed teaching the aspects that related to the subject I've applied for more. I'm not teaching at the moment - I took a break from teaching to get an idea of life outside academic institutions to make sure it was what I really wanted to do, before committing myself to making a career of it.)
