GPS location/bearing/waypoints app for Android
Can anyone recommend me an Android app (preferably free, but) that replicates the GPS-->GPS Data-->Navigation and Position functionality on Symbian S60 FP2?
I've just moved from the one to the other and the only real place Android falls down for me atm is there are no GPS options in the box as it were except Google maps.
I can't find a good screenshot of what I mean but essentially an application that gives
-current co-ordinates
-set target co-ordinates/waypoints
-odometer stuff (speed, average, time, etc)
-distance to target
-bearing to target (preferably graphically, i.e. with a compass).
-satellite signal, strength, accuracy, etc
The stuff Nokia includes by default is perfect - you get a big round compass with a red dot on it for your target, a distance and ETA underneath, and the dot sort of enlarges/spreads across the compass and gets fuzzier when you get close or when accuracy of the GPS fix decreases.
Searching the Android app store is a nightmare as there's just so much crap to wade through so I figure personal recommendations are the way to go....
Thanks for any help! -
Re: GPS location/bearing/waypoints app for Android
Personally my favourite GPS/Mapping app is "Maverick". I believe it supports all of the features you mentioned. I have honestly never had a problem with it. Entering OS coordinates is a little odd (the full reference goes in the "Zone / Grid Ref" box) but works faultlessly.
There is a lite version and a full version. I use the full version but to be honest I don't really know the difference.
Here is the QR code for the Android Market for:
Full version

Lite version

For added functions I would suggest teaming this with:
GPS Test

GPS Booster

Thanks for the suggestion. Maverick is one I looked at but from the (very brief) description in the marketplace didn't seem to be at all what I'm looking for (it's an offline map-caching app apparently? whereas I'm after simple co-ords, waypoints and bearings). But I'll take a look if you say it does that sort of thing too.

"Maverick" does have all of those functions.
Some of them are a little hard to find though. The help website for the app is reasonably useful. As I say there is a lite version so you may as well download it and see what you think.
