    Victorianism and Modernism Help
    Hi,

I'm really struggling with the concepts of Victorianism and Modernism.
I'm doing an exam on Friday in which i have to write an essay relating to Victoranism and Modernism texts. The texts I have looked at are Thomas Hardy's poems 1912/1913 (the emma collection) , tess of d'urbevilles, the heart of the matter, brave new world , w.h. auden poetry before 1940 and to the lighthouse.
I know all of the texts pretty well (except for w.h. auden i've no notes on him If anyone could help that would be great) but as for writing an essay using these texts and the theme of victorianism/modernism.. im pretty stuck.

Last years question was 'Are victorianism and modernism best described as chronologically defined periods of literary and cultural history or rather as states of mind, world views and sets of aesthetic values?'

    Please help me somebody!
Anything you know about victorianism/modernism or how you would approach that question would be great.

Oh and also does anybody know anything about W.H. Auden, was he a modernist poet?

    Thank you in advance!
