GCSE English A* Evaluation
My teachers always tell me that you need to 'evaluate' to get an A* and this isn't too difficult in Literature or English Paper 2 poetry because you just judge if something works or if it confuses people slightly. How do you recommend using it in the English Language exams tomorrow because its more difficult to grasp what they're wanting to convey when its unseen.
I'm doing AQA Higher English Paper 1 tomorrow by the way.
Thanks

Re: GCSE English A* Evaluation
What they're trying to convey is whateve argument they have presented. For example, in past papers these have been about police methods used on teenagers. So you could say "The description of the policing methods being "ridiculous" and "alien" convey the writer's thoughts towards the police force's methods to try and control youths. It persuades the reader to agree with his opinion that the methods are "ridiculous".
