I'm trying to sort through my finances for postgraduate study, and I am wondering if there are host families who house students throughout the year. Or would it be better if I applied for university housing?

I'm just trying to figure out what is the less expensive option, yet I don't know what the repercussions of staying with a host family are. And is that option available?
